Motorhouse Music provides custom guitar lessons and recording services to music enthusiasts throughout New York City. Lessons and recording services are conveniently available in your home, or if preferred, at our studio in Long Island City. Motorhouse works with all ages, abilities and musical preferences, delivering unique teaching and recording experiences that meet individual goals.
Tony Calabro, Motorhouse’s founder, is an award-winning multi-instrumentalist and songwriter with over 10 years experience in music education and artist development. He pulls from both formal education and real-world performance experience to provide effective guitar lessons and first-rate recordings. A graduate of Berklee College of Music, where he dual majored in guitar performance and music production, Tony has enjoyed a successful career as a performer, teacher and producer. He was a finalist in the Billboard Song Contest and The Great American Song Contest, and has performed in various venues throughout the U.S. He recently played in a regional performance of the musical RENT and is the lead guitarist in the New York-based band, In Ashton.
As a producer, Tony has recorded many independent rock, pop, metal, punk, and singer/songwriter acts. He has worked in studios in New York, Boston and San Diego alongside legendary producers for artists such as Radiohead, James Taylor, Phish, Stone Temple Pilots, and The White Stripes, among others.
